The Paddle for Life started after lifeguards from Fistral Beach held a Joe Way memorial paddle to raise money for charity in 2008.  Joe is the inspirational little boy who touched people's lives around the country and beyond.

Our aim is to raise awareness of Joe’s story and inspire people to raise money for their chosen charity.

Ellie gets tuff for Joe's appeal...

Written by Scott Dickinson on .

Ellie Tyson, aged just 8, took part in the junior "TUFF ENUFF" endurance challenge in Penzance on Sunday 29th May.

The Tyson family, who knew Joe when he was alive, backed Ellie's challenge supporting the Newquay toddlers "Joe Way Appeal".

Ellie endured a 5k assault course over a variety of terrain including mud, rock and military obstacles which are designed to test strength, nerve and courage. She then tackled this course alone with enthusiasm and determination and despite getting stuck in the mud she never lost her nerve and always had a smile.

Ellie looked through the charities that Joe's appeal support and chose to donate the money to the 'Help Izzy Walk' campaign as she would love other children to have the same chances and opportunities that she has and is thrilled this will hopefully make a difference to another child's quality of life.

Matt Way, Joe's Dad, said; "We were really grateful for the donation and effort that Ellie made to get through the course, we think she was very brave and did an amazing job".
